Pasta in creamy, cheesy White Sauce is everyone's favourite, isn't it? And I love it when crispy Garlic Breads are served alongside!

This recipe is about the Pasta in delicious White Sauce cooked with added Vegetables to make it more interesting and healthy of-course!

The recipe of Garlic White Sauce I have already shared and it was really liked by my pasta-loving friends.

For vegetables in the Pasta, you can add any and as many. It could be zucchini, mushrooms, broccoli, colorful bell-peppers, cauliflower, potatoes or tomatoes. Have I missed any? :P I have used onions, capsicums and tomatoes but it all depends on your choice, availability and the mood (most importantly)!




Pasta in White Sauce

Prep Time:  10-15 Mins  |  Cooking Time: 15-20 Mins |  Serves: 3-4  

Ingredients:


  • Raw Pasta । पास्ता - 2 cups any shape
  • Onion । प्याज - 2 medium
  • Capsicum । शिमला मिर्च - 1 large
  • Firm Tomatoes । टमाटर - 3 
  • Garlic pod । लहसुन - 3-4 
  • White Sauce । वाइट सॉस - 1.5 to 1.75 cups
  • Cheese । चीज़ - 1/2 cup
  • Water । पानी - 1/4th to 1/2 cup (reserved Pasta Water)
  • Salt । नमक - to taste
  • Chilli Flakes । कुटी हुई लाल मिर्च - 1/2 tsp or to taste
  • Black Pepper । काली मिर्च पाउडर - 1/2 tsp
  • Dried Basil । ड्राइड बेसिल - 1 tsp
  • Mixed Herbs । मिक्स्ड हर्ब्स - 1/2 tsp
  • Olive Oil । जैतून का तेल - 1.5 to 2 tbsp


Procedure:

  1. Boil the Pasta as per Packet instructions as the cooking time can vary depending on the Pasta shape and size. 2 cups of Raw Pasta will give you approx 3 cups of Boiled Pasta. Keep aside half cup of boiled pasta water for Step 4.
  2. Chop Garlic, Onions, Capsicum and Tomatoes (deseeded). Grate the Cheese.
  3. In a pan, take Olive oil and add chopped Garlic, cook it for 1 minute. Next, add onions and saute till it becomes soft. 
  4. Add the diced Capsicum and cook it for 2-3 minutes, next add tomatoes and cook it for 2 minute. Add Pasta, White Sauce, Black Pepper powder, Chilli Flakes, Basil leaves and mixed herbs. Mix well and cook it for 2 minutes. At this stage, if consistency is too thick, add the Pasta water (water we used to boil the Pasta) and cook it further for a minute.
  5. Add the cheese, mix well and serve hot.
