Review: Feast - Sheraton, Hyderabad

Monday, September 09, 2019

Sometime back, I got a nice way to deal with Monday blues when we decided to have a team lunch at Feast - Sheraton on the very first day of the week! The place was decided in a hurry and among many factors, we only kept proximity in mind to come up with this choice. Therefore we went there with no expectations and like it's said:

“Blessed is he who expects nothing, for he shall never be disappointed.”
Alexander Pope

The place has the friendly and welcoming vibes with well-spread menu starting from salads, starters, condiments and dips, live counter for Pasta and Main Course to Deserts. We all settled down at our table and then spent a good 5-10 minutes to check the spread and discussed among ourselves on where and what to start from. The menu was overwhelming and having quite a lot of options from Chinese to Italian to Indian to Continental.

I have decided to start from the Pasta and if you are following my posts, my love for Italian food would be unhidden by now. I first ordered the Pesto Pasta from their live counter and the Chef was generous enough to serve it on the table. The pasta was okay but not hot though. Next, I tried the Spaghetti Aglio-e-Olio explaining the chef about my preference of the Pasta shape and the elements that were missing in the first one. He took the feedback positively and prepared a nice one but the same story, it was lacking the garlic flavor which is the key to a good Aglio-e-Olio. Meanwhile, I tried Spinach Veloute from the Soup section alongside Pita bread with Hummus and few other dips. Paneer Tikka and Potatoes in Pesto Sauce in the starters were nice and so is the Crispy Veg and Cantonese Soft Noodles from the Chinese menu.

Main Course was looking impressive and indulgent.  From the section, I tried Veg Biryani, Dal Makhani, Sambar-Rice, Paneer curry, Crispy Bitter-gourd, and mix veg. All were flavorsome. Special mention to the Naan section. In general, we see that Breads are often very chewy, rubbery and not at all eat-able but here at Feast, we were served fresh, hot and very soft Naans. I opted for Garlic naan which was really good. From the spread, the last few things I tried were curd-rice, Dahi-vada and some pappadam and everything were delicious.

Their dessert section too had quite a lot of options to choose from. From the cakes/pastries to Indian classics like Malpua, Fruit Kheer, Gud Rasgulla, Mysore Pak, etc. to name a few. I have tried my hands on Strawberry Ice Cream with Cherry Compote, Apple crumb from the bakery section and Fruit Kheer. All were nice to the palate but the Icecream-Compote combination stood out among all.
