FALAFEL & HUMMUS | फलाफल और हमस

Tuesday, May 26, 2020

Falafel is a popular Middle Eastern fast food made of dried chickpeas or fava beans. It is a fried snack and very popular not only in Middle East but across the globe. This is a vegan recipe high in protein from the Chickpeas and Sesame seeds. Falafels can be consumed as-is with Hummus or as a Sandwich/Wrap to make it more filling.

This recipe is made with simple every day ingredients we all have in our Kitchen and very easy to make.

Important Points:
  • Tahini paste can be easily made at home. I have shared the recipe on vidzKitchen here: Chickpeas Sandwich. Dry roast 1/4th cup of Sesame seeds and grind to a smooth paste using 2-3 tbsp of Olive oil.
  • When you are ready to deep fry the Falafels, first make only 1 ball/patty and deep fry to check if it is not breaking. If it does break, add 1-2 tbsp of Chickpea flour or bread crumbs to the falafel batter and make balls.
  • Always deep fry Falafels on medium flame. Else they will not be cooked from inside and will become darker on the outer side.
  • You can make wraps out of these Falafels and Hummus or stuff inside a Pita bread to make it a complete meal.

Let see the ingredients and procedure to make the delicious Middle Eastern delicacy Falafels and Classic Hummus.
